Alanya is not only a district town, but also touristc region, to which belong the villages such as: Okurcalar, Avsallar, Incekum, Konakli and Mahmutlar as well as several smaller ones.
Konakli is located about 12 km west of Alanya. Initially a small farming village evolved into one of the main tourist centers of the Mediterranean coast. In 1990, Konakli had about 4 700 inhabitants, in 2010, already about 25 000 and focused ¼ hotel beds of the whole Alanya region. Konakli has a big shopping center with several streets full of shops with goods for tourists, bars and restaurants. A curiosity in the town is Kervansaray, kind of an ancient inn, in which formerly stopped the caravans and now are held 'Turkish Nights', where you can see the tourist version of Turkish folklore and try local all-inclusive alcohol drinks. Konakli’s famous landmark especially among younger tourists is also a disco / nightclub Summer Garden.

Avsallar lies about 25 km west of Alanya and is known for many beautiful seaside all inclusive resorts and hotels. Currently there are about 10,000 permanent residents, a number that is constantly growing in connection with the construction of many new buildings and settlements, where many foreigners are purchaising their holiday homes. In Avsallar you will find full of life shopping center with bazaar type shops, bars and restaurants.

Incekum is a small (population of about 3000 inhabitants) village with banan plantations, but it also has beautiful coast full of modern hotels at the beautiful sandy beach. It is located to the west of Alanya, between Avsallar and Okurcalar. 'Ince kum' in Turkish means 'fine sand'. Incekum is now 'fused' with Avsallar - in connection with the dense housing you can see no border between the villages.

Okurcalar is the most western village on the coast allocated to the region of Alanya, ca. 30 km away from it. Further to the west begins already Side area. Okurcalar has about 10,000 permanent residents.

Mahmutlar lies about 15 km east of Alanya and is its largest community, numbering about 35 000 inhabitants. Since 1997, the number of inhabitants almost tripled, which is associated with a huge building boom. In contrast to the above-mentioned villages in Mahmutlar are rather small 3 or 4-star hotels, not large 5-star resorts, but instead the city profits from the very high number of foreign residents, who purchased thousands of apartments in luxury living complexes with swimming pools and leisure facilities. The beach in Mahmutlar is long, and the town is also framed by the picturesque peaks of the Taurus mountains.
