There are many articles promoting Turkey as a holiday country with 300 sunny days per year, sandy beaches, rich in ancient monuments and scents of the Orient. I, however, will tell you a bit about daily life in Alanya, about how to live here and what to do to be able to enjoy all that Alanya has to offer more and longer than the travel agencies offer.

Today, 14 December, the weather is sunny and warm, but how many degrees exactly? I do not know because living here İ got accustomed to not using a thermometer. So İ’m checking now the data with our weather forecast.. and can inform you that it is 19 degrees:) right now. Yes, the thermometer is not much use here, because even in winter is it is generally between 15-20 ° C.
In January this year and exactly in the New Year Day we celebrated it by doing a family picnic on the beach and enjoying the sun, admiring the "cold resistant" tourists bathing in the cold sea (water temperature 19 ° C). Yes, for the natives the swimming season are the months from June to September, the water is then an average of around 28 degres C, so the tourists accustomed to the cold Baltic waters, in the eyes of the locals are real ‘walruses’.
As for the winter, my daughter sometimes misses the snow, and since this year we are not going to take a holiday in Europe, I promised her that in January we will go to Antalya - Saklıkent, about 135 km away, where the Taurus Mountains will be able covered in snow :)
When I look at Alanya, I'm sure that it is an ideal place for family holidays with a guarantee of no clashes and arguments concerning the choice of activities. Why? Well, because the location of Alanya, it's climate and culture is a unique "all inclusive". Alanya has nice and warm sea (ideal for people suffering from rheumatism or different types of allergies), covered with evergreen mountains (just for family picnics), cool mountain rivers and streams, bringing rest during the hot summer months and attracting fishing enthusiasts. Alanya has also a cave microclimate (asthmatics should necessarily take advantage of it’s beneficial effects).
Children, when they get tired of splashing in the sea or in the pool and building sand fortresses (as if it could get boring at all ...:)), can play in the water parks or visit the local amusement park.
Youth and adults, diversify the days by: ship cruises, jeep safari trips, the flight on a paraglider or a banana boat ride on the water:), rafting and so on... Keen athletes will feel here like in paradise. At the beach you will find: outdoor gyms, tennis courts, basketball courts and a beach football.
Friends of mine, Dutchmen coming here regularly, attend for example with passion the climbing and trekking trips.
‘Shopaholics’ will have also enough attractions. There are so many shops and stores in Alanya, that so far I failed to get to visit them all. Besides of course the colorful bazaars are waiting for these who like bargaining.
Lovers of history can make an ambitious plans to visit ancient ruins and many museums with fantastic exhibitions. For the followers of the path of religious leaders, the whole ancient Pamphilia is waiting, and also first Christian churches carved in the rocks of the mountains rising above the Antakya.
In short, Alanya and its surroundings is not just sun and beaches, but a wide range of facilities that are sure to satisfy all arriving guests.Of course when you ask a local when he was last time on the Kale fortress or at the Dim cave he will for sure answer, that a looong time ago, or not at all:) So it’s the same rule as everywhere, that the least known place is your homeland
Just the opposite case is with foreigners coming here who fall in love with the Orient and eagerly visit every place, explore history, geography, culture, and who often know about Alanya much more than a local Turk.
And when someone falls in love with Alanya so much that the two weeks' vacation is not enough, he begins to think about what to do to be here more often and to be able to stay longer. As I mentioned earlier, everything turns out to be relative, so it may be convenient for some to stay in a hotel with regular meal times, fixed menu, and a room serviced daily. For the others, who appreciate the intimacy and independence it may be not - and they start looking then at the possibility of having here their own "holiday four walls."
I live here for a good few years, I know Alanya and the surrounding area "inside out" and I assure you that everyone will find something suitable for yourself. Cozy one bedroom apartment few meters to the beach, yet close to the bustling city center. Larger, two or three rooms, located in a modern building with extensive infrastructure, where in addition to SPA center you will find tennis courts, football, handball, volleyball, basketball and of course, playgrounds for the children.
For people who like space and privacy, the solution are villas, situated on the phenomenally panoramic hills above Alanya and
the coast, with private pool, garden and mediterranean juicy greenery.
People who think, that such a purchase in addition to being an investment in their own sense of comfort, also should bring financial gains, may decide to rent their property for tourists. Remembering the above-mentioned "law of relativity" I'm not going to discuss here the profitability of purchasing such a property for investment, since for someone € 3,000 profit for several weeks is a lot, and for someone else it is little, so let each one make the calculation for himself.
Observing the local real estate market and how it behaves in the face of global economic fluctuations İ can surely say that the Turkish Riviera region is stable and safe and has great economic perspectives. Here, people are attracted by the sun and the specific mix of Europe and the Orient, and these three elements are constant. Besides Turkey’s economic turnover increases stable every year – in 2011 Turkey had 2nd position in the world (after China) in terms of economic growth. İt’s exports this year achieved the highest score from the beginning of the foundation of the Turkish Republic (1923). The expected number of tourists in 2012 in the region of Antalya is 12 million!
So facing this facts investing into a dream home in Turkish Riviera is definitely a good idea. And how to own an apartment or house for example in Alanya? Easier than one could ever think. For starters İ recommend to review offers from our web site, all cautiously viewed and selected . In this way you will find out what offers are on the market and what are the standard prices. In the next stage, I would invite you to Alanya, preferably for 3-4 days, so that you can see for yourself how it all looks in reality.
The most difficult step, of course, is the the moment when you have to decide which property is the right one for you - but with our support to make a choice will be much easier.
